Expedition Cruises
Arctic
The Arctic and Subarctic are my home and first love. From the tundra to jagged mountain tops, these are the landscapes and ecosystems that I first recreated in, studied in, guided in, and grew in. I’ve worked and traveled around the circumpolar north, from my home in Alaska to Canada and Svalbard. Introducing the arctic to visitors is a never-ending goal and one I’m proud to work towards.
Antarctic & Subantarctic
Being passionate about the Arctic inevitably leads one to dream of exploring the southern extremes of our planet. Stunning landscapes, fascinating biology, and the sense of adventure abound in the Antarctic; to me there is no more enchanting destination! I’m so fortunate to be able to share this place with others and hope to continue to do so for a long time.
Zodiac Pilot
Experience as a zodiac pilot is critical to work on an expedition ship (there are rarely any piers in the places we go!). Whether it’s landing in the surf or cruising quietly through an ice choked bay; I take safety and enjoyment equally seriously when on the water. I’ve logged over 200 hours as a zodiac pilot in the circumpolar regions and hundreds of hours more navigating motorboats in challenging Alaskan rivers.
Guest Experience
Science communication on an expedition cruise can make or break a guest’s once in a lifetime trip. I’m passionate about all the places we visit, all the wildlife, all the natural beauty and wonder around us. And I share that passion with others! From in-depth scientific lectures to casual conversations on deck over coffee, I love connecting with people about our shared voyage.
